If you’re like me, then when you’re sat at home in the middle of a YouTube spiral, at some point you’ll reach a TED Talk. We all know TED Talks, they’re great! Informative, reassuring, educational, and occasionally, brilliant.
There are TED Talks that you watch, and then there are the talks that you actually pay attention to and learn from, or pay attention to and enjoy. And so here today I am going to gift you, the reader, my favourite TED Talks of them all.
If I’m honest I’m doing this rather selfishly in the hopes that one of you lovely people will recommend YOUR favourite and I might find another gem of a talk in amongst all the ones on the internet. So PLEASE let me know what your favourites are….after sticking around to see mine of course! so here we go!!
1) Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator’ – Tim Urban
I can’t count how many times I’ve watched this talk. It’s by far my favourite, and Tim Urban is excellent in this. I actually found it worrying how much I was able to relate to this, it certainly gave me the kick I needed in the last year of uni!
2) ‘I’ve Lived as a Man & a Woman – Here’s What I Learned’ – Paula Stone Williams
Genuinely eye-opening about the gender gap, this woman is inspiring and speaks SO well! She certainly makes you think about the way the world work. And as a bonus her talk is also witty and well delivered. I love it so much!!
3) ‘When Money Isn’t Real – The $10,000 Dollar Experiment’ – Adam Carroll
A truly amazing experiment on young people and money, and something that taught me so much about money without me even knowing it. It’s a great experiment and a fun TED Talk to listen to and watch, but also one which I think people today need to learn something from. Again, eye-opening!!! Truly worth the watch!
4) ‘This is What Happens When You Reply to Spam Email’ – James Veitch
A true classic for the last one on the list. If you haven’t heard of James yet, then you need to go watch all his videos IMMEDIATELY. Without doubt James is one of the funniest and most intelligent individuals I’ve come across in the past few years, and his talk is one I watch just for amusement value really, but again it has a strong message about life on the internet. I promise you that of all the TED Talks on this list THIS is definitely the one most worth watching. It’s hilarious!!
And that’s it! I hope you find something you like, and if you have a favourite TED Talk then I would love to hear from you because I’m running out of good ones to watch! So let me know in the comments!
Until Next Time!
